Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis
Full Description
HTMA Test
Your informational Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) will be done by Trace Elements Inc. TEI is the best lab for HTMA based on their procedures (e.g. not washing your hair sample because minerals leave in the wash water). Your hair will be tested for the following:
- 15 Essential Minerals: Calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, copper, zinc, phosphorus, iron, manganese, chromium, selenium, boron, cobalt, molybdenum, and sulfur
- 8 Toxic Heavy Metal Elements: Antimony, uranium, arsenic, beryllium, mercury, cadmium, lead and aluminum
- 15 Additional Elements: Germanium, barium, bismuth, rubidium, lithium, nickel, platinum, thallium, vanadium, strontium, tin, titanium, tungsten and zirconium
The absolute amount of each mineral is important (not too high, not too low!) but even more useful is the ratios between different minerals that characterize the following body functions:
- Adrenal Health/Stress
- Thyroid/Power
- Nervous System Balance
- Hormone and Energy Regulation
- Blood Sugar/Metabolism
- Immune System Balance
- Copper Dysregulation
Please keep in mind that HTMA is an informational test, not a diagnostic one. No illness or medical conditions will be determined.
My suggestion is that you test once, make lifestyle changes, and then test again after several months of the new changes in order to see your progress towards wellness.
HTMA Report
The test results need interpretation before you know what to adjust about your diet and lifestyle – that’s where I come in! You receive a multi-page report with your results and what they mean for your health and lifestyle. The report explains what the data tells you and together we decide what you will do about it!
HTMA Consultation
In your 25 min consultation, we will review your report and develop a 3 month Wellness Action Plan for you to follow. For your second test, we compare the two sets of results and discuss what wellness lifestyle actions to keep, change, or add for the next 3 months. My goal is for you to feel knowledgeable about your internal health and confident about how to improve it!
