Happy 5th Anniversary!
12 December 2024
It’s the fifth anniversary of Zen and Vitality with Zoa and I’m so very grateful you’re here to celebrate with me.
I set out five years ago with an unwavering vision in mind. At the time, I didn’t have “all the answers” about how things would unfold with this venture or all the detailed nuances of what it would look like to serve my clients and community.
What I did know, though, was that my deep, undeniable vision was to empower people to take control of their health.

I knew that I wanted my clients to feel a deep sense of peace and relief about the fact that, despite the issue or malady, they would have a clear understanding of what’s going to work and how to go about it…
And not just within the walls of my practice, but as tools and resources they would take with them into their everyday lives.
From the beginning, I’ve been compelled to move people away from the messaging of the “shouldn’ts” and “don’ts” – “Don’t do this,” “You shouldn’t eat that” – or the idea that vitality and wellness simply come down to “Here, take this.”
I knew that I never wanted the people I work with to feel limited and small. Instead, I want to empower them to be their own biggest asset and ally when it comes to their health by knowing which tools to use, when, and how.

Reflecting Back
Thinking back on my original vision for Zen & Vitality with Zoa is an energizing topic for me…
Just as our “big birthdays” inspire reflection, this fifth anniversary is my opportunity to look back – and inform my view of the future. My vision expands and flows into new, delightful arenas every year, and it’s both gratifying and thrilling to see how far the studio has come and to prepare for what lies ahead.

In case you aren’t aware, prior to opening Zen & Vitality with Zoa, I was an integral member of two other wellness practices. I poured myself into those studios and, well, ran them as if they were my own. Very successfully.
There came a point, however, when I received a very, very clear sign from the universe that it was time for me to create something not only for myself – but for those I wanted to serve through my work.
My mother, a small business owner herself, commented at the time, “You lasted so long as an employee. I’m surprised you were able to put up with it that long!”
Wise words, to be sure. And, as it goes, things unfold exactly when and how they need to.
The Birth of Zen and Vitality
Within six weeks, I had opened the doors to Zen & Vitality with Zoa. Yay!
Three months later, the pandemic arrived.
While the world closed down around us, I chose to expand. I was able to continue (with adjustments, of course) working with clients who are still with me to this day.
With each passing year, I’ve added more services and options for my clients’ wellness and vitality.

I have very intentionally picked new areas to grow into, like the bioidentical hormones, vibration therapy, metabolic bike, and detox support plans that were added in 2024. This has included pursuing the training and experience necessary to serve my clients in more comprehensive ways.
Continually Growing and Evolving
The culture of my practice has been to gradually but continually evolve and grow the ways I can empower you to thrive in all aspects of your health and vitality.
As one of my long-time clients put it, I have become a “one-stop-shop” of sorts. In her words, it doesn’t matter what the problem is, she knows she’ll find relief and healing through our work together.

Whether it’s agitated skin, chronic fatigue, or a painful shoulder…
Rather than a visit to the dermatologist, primary care physician, orthopedist, and massage therapist, she knows she can find all of those solutions here and feel completely in control of what she’s doing. She has information, guidance, tools, and mostly – choices.
My clients are educated about how to do these things for themselves. They don’t feel as if they need to rely on someone else to make them feel well, and… I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Looking Ahead – Big Announcement!
And so, as I arrive here at this fifth anniversary and look ahead to 2025, I am wonderfully energized about what’s coming next with Zen & Vitality with Zoa – including how it will impact the incredible community of clients I serve and work with.
I’m very excited to announce that in November 2025, I will be holding Zen & Vitality with Zoa’s first live multi-day retreat in Iceland!

I’ve traveled to this beautiful country several times over the last few decades, and I was just there a few weeks ago on my way back from a continuing education course in the UK.
In case you aren’t familiar with Iceland, the culture is beautifully conducive to wellness. Its inhabitants are very much of this mindset, whether it’s heat therapy, cold exposure, time spent in nature, or enhancing vitality through the simple act of walking…
I’ve always been called back to Iceland as a centered and grounded place in which to immerse myself in the beliefs and practices that I’m so passionate about.
And, in talking with my long-time clients, the implications have been clear – Iceland is the perfect and natural place to hold this inaugural wellness retreat.
As I’m putting the pieces together of this new venture for Zen & Vitality with Zoa, I’m clear, confident, and so very energized about this event.
I’ll be providing more details in the coming weeks and months, but have been eager to share this news with you!
And, what better day to do so than the day that marks five years of growth and evolution into new and wonderful directions – all in the context of my connection with and support of your utmost health and vitality.

It’s been an incredible journey and continues to be, and I’m so glad to be on it with you. But for you and your presence here.
Warmly with your wellness in mind,
