Women’s Wellness Book Club

Reading is a common way to gain information and ponder your personal choices and habits. Reading about wellness topics will empower you to be a better you! Having a group of like minded women to connect with feels fabulous!

Join us as we journey together looking for new ways to feel great, defy aging, make more time in the day, and live a life with more meaning.

One of the many gifts that books give readers is a connection to each other. When we share an affection for a writer, an author or a story, we also have a better understanding of people unlike ourselves. Books cultivate empathy. ~ Sarah Jessica Parker

Zen Lending Library

Zen Lending Library in La Plata, MD contains a wealth of wellness oriented books.

Wellness books abound at the Zen Lending Library. Our focused collection spans the dimensions of wellness, phases of life, and possibilities! Feel free to browse the collection when you are in the studio for a wellness session or class or request a book rental (small rental fee supports the library’s existence and maintenance). Wellness book donations are accepted!

Reading is to the mind, what exercise is to the body. As by the one, health is preserved, strengthened, and invigorated: by the other, virtue (which is the health of the mind) is kept alive, cherished, and confirmed. ~ Joseph Addison

Current Book Club Plans

The Women’s Wellness Book Club is currently not meeting. In the past, our book club has looked like:

We read or listen independently then meet weekly on Wednesday at 6:30-7 pm. To accommodate as many schedules as possible, meetings are held both in person (in La Plata, Maryland) and virtually. During our time together, we connect socially (as many women need more than we admit!), fess up to whether we made time to read in the last week (!), share what has resonated with us the most so far, discuss how we are responding to the book’s information, and its impact on our personal wellness choices. A benefit to joining us for several books or more is the ability to connect information and lessons from book to book to help each other and ourselves!

Remember to save money and help the environment by making good use of the public library, book swap sites, audio books, the Zen Lending Library, and Better World Books.
