Over 60% of Americans have a current or past exposure to mold. Over 25% of humans are biologically challenged to detoxify their bodies and brains from the toxins mold generate. Most of these people experience daily negative repercussions from their mold exposure.

Could you be one of the over 10 million Americans with mold in your past and poor health in your present?

I have been there and back. I’ve helped others heal from mold exposure. You can do it too! You need information, help, and feedback. Your healing journey isn’t over until you feel better not older!

Yes this list is overwhelming! But if this is your life, I hear you and I believe you. You don’t have to experience all of these at the same time or ever to have mold related issues. However, most people who struggle with their health due to mold exposure have a myriad of physical and mental issues that seem unconnected until you look holistically and include mold in the picture.

If you are having some of these symptoms or if you have had exposure to a moldy house, workplace, school, or other sick building, I’d love to talk and help you figure out whether you should be proactive and detox from mold.

Mold in Water Damaged Buildings

Water and mold are everywhere – particularly in places like Southern Maryland with hot, humid summers and intense rainfalls. Water is capable of getting into your house, school, workplace, church, and more through a leaky window, a little bit of damage to a roof shingle, a basement sump pump that looses power for too long during a storm, a broken pipe, an overflowing sink or toilet, and the list goes on! You do not have to be able to see the mold to have it growing. The house materials can dry out but you still have a mold problem. Ugh!

When water gets into your house and overstays its welcome (which is 24 hours), the interior of the building is in prime condition to grow mold on and in the building materials itself. Once there, the mold does not go away on its own. Mold has no legs and feet to get up and walk out of your house. The best it can do is break into smaller pieces (which happens when it dries) and float around your house looking for a new place to live and grow. You have to remove it quite intentionally and safely!

Mold is not new. Moldy buildings are not new. The Old Testament refers to the unhealthy nature of a mold home and tells you to get out! In modern times, we use the term Sick Building Syndrome for a moldy building. Your water damaged building is ill. It needs help. You need help. If you are ready to discuss how I can help you, let’s talk.

How to Heal From Toxic Mold

Healing from mold is a wellness journey absolutely worth taking. Beware – there is no quick fix. Dealing with mold exposure is not taught in medical school so most doctors are unaware and poorly trained to handle your complex, whole body issues. They, like me, will have had to seek out specialized learning, training, and experience in order to handle the complexity of Mold Illness.

Your journey towards wellness will involve all aspects of your lifestyle so you are in the right place to learn more and get started! There are plenty of guideposts along the way to let us know you are headed in the right direction.

In general, healing from mold is a multi-year endeavor that moves through properly timed and arranged phases. Quite often you can be working on more than one phase at a time, but generally speaking one phase is still dominant at any given time.

When you work with me to heal from mold exposure, we consciously and thoughtfully make lifestyle changes that address all 6 phases in ways that work for your unique body. You might need additional help to heal your sick home, address your specific chronic infection, or support your ongoing medical issues. It is terrific if you have a partner in your wellness journey that smooths the path for you and makes healing easier. It takes a village to raise a child but it takes a wellness oriented village to heal from chronic illness!

My first rule of healing is that you should always feel better because of your healing actions – not worse. Feeling worse means you have missed a step, pushed too fast, took a wrong turn, or hit a roadblock that needs removed. My second rule is that your wellness journey is unique to you. There is no prescription to be followed. No group program that works for everyone. You are a unique biological individual and you need a unique solution to reaching your 100% wellness level.

Let’s meet and talk about how to propel you forward to a greater state of wellness!
